How to connect with Stripe so you can take payments via Attend App

How do I take payments for my courses or sessions? This is a good question because you want to get paid in a way that’s as easy, simple and straight-forward.
Your members want a simple, easy and straight-forward way of paying you too.
Here at Attend we want to make sure you know how easy it is to do.

How to set up Stripe
On your club dashboard, there’s the Sign up to Stripe button.

Hover over it and it gives you the text ‘Sign in to Stripe to collect your payments for courses online’.
Click this button.
Then you come to the page where you can sign up.

To sign-up for Stripe, you simply click the ‘Connect with Stripe’ button.
And you come to your Attend page.

You need to give the following details to set up your account.  It’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes.

  • The country you’re based in
  • Business description
  • Business website
  • The type of business you run
  • Your company number (optional)
  • VAT number (optional)
  • Business address
  • Your name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your home address
  • The business name you want your attendees to see on their bank statements
  • A support telephone number. This is so that if people have problems, they know how to get in touch with you and let you know
  • Your bank details
  • Finally enter your email and a password so you can access your Stripe account

Click ‘authorize access to this account’.

When you do that, you’ll be taken back to your Attend account.
Meanwhile Stripe will review your application and send you an email confirming your account.
(They may ask you for some extra identification if they can’t see who you are from your website and the details that you’ve given, and then they will set up your account).
Once your application with Stripe has been approved, when you click the Connect+ button, you’ll see your button now tells you that you are connected with Stripe.

Why does Stripe need the information it asks for?
The way Stripe works is it will take the money from your members’ card details when they sign up for your account.
Stripe will then hold that money for a short period of time, a processing fee will be deducted,  and then it will transfer the money directly into your bank account.
The details you give enable Stripe to send the money directly to your bank account.

Attend never stores your financial information. Nor does it ever store your member’s information.
